Standard definition cameras that use the composite video baseband signal. These systems transmit continuous video signals via image sensors using connectors on coaxial cables. They are affordable and effective, storing images via capture card on a tape recorder or a PC.

Relatively the same in operation as the Analog but Digital Systems digitize signals at the camera level. They are computer based and multi-channelled, enabling them not to need a video capture card as they store images directly on a computer. Note that due to the advanced, heavily compressed output, these systems require large amounts of storage space to save recordings
